Ahmed Sarfraz Rana
8+ years shipping production systems in Python/Django, React, and GraphQL on GCP — most recently leading a 7–10 engineer team through a multi-tenant rebuild that took a single-customer fleet platform to 10+ locations. Currently working remotely with a US-based client, and open to new full-time or contract roles with US teams.

Working remotely with a US client
I'm a full-stack developer and engineering lead currently leading the platform team at VGM (formerly Buggy TLC), where I direct 7–10 engineers building fleet and vehicle-management software used across 10+ locations for a US-based client — fully remote, on US working hours.
My work sits at the intersection of backend architecture and team leadership: designing multi-tenant systems, building GraphQL APIs on Django, automating deployments on GCP, and making sure the humans shipping the code have clear priorities and room to do good work.
I hold an MS in Computer Science from FAST-NUCES, Lahore, and started my career building WordPress sites and custom PHP applications before moving into large-scale SaaS platforms. I'm now looking for my next remote role with a US-based team — full-time, contract, or fractional.

Platform for a car rental service managing customer leads, applications, billing schedules, and vehicle allocation — improving turnover and consolidating fleet operations.
Building-security application digitizing guest entry, host notifications, and visitation logs.
End-to-end vehicle wash-cycle management, from service initiation to completion, improving operational flow and turnaround time.
Secure, scalable document system for a legal firm enabling remote access and collaboration.
I currently work remotely with a US-based client on US hours, and I'm looking for what's next — full-time, contract, or a focused engagement.
US-based teams
Looking for a senior/staff-level remote role with a US company. Comfortable owning backend architecture, GraphQL APIs, and cloud infrastructure end to end.
$55/hr
Available for contract engineering or fractional tech lead work — hands-on delivery plus technical direction, without a full-time commitment.
Project-based
A deep audit of your system design, database schema, and scaling bottlenecks, with a concrete action plan you can hand to any team.
Notes from turning a single-customer fleet platform into a system serving 10+ locations — and the assumptions that didn't survive the rewrite.
Directing 7-10 engineers while staying technical enough to make good architecture calls — what's worked and what hasn't.
Boring technology has served our fleet management platform well. A case for Django and GraphQL when the trendier alternatives get all the attention.
I'm actively looking for remote full-time and contract roles with US-based teams — $55/hr for contract work. Email is the fastest way to reach me.
